The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is attempting to increase numbers of barn owls in our state.  Numbers have been declining over the past eight decades as land usage patterns have changed.  Not only are these beautiful birds, but they also prey on species that can damage seedlings and young trees.  Here is a video about this special bird -
