The Northwest Illinois Forestry Association (NIFA) will host a presentation on the changes to federal and state tax law that will affect woodland owners on Tuesday evening, February 12, 2012 starting at 7 pm at the Stockton Public Library, 140 W. Benton Avenue, Stockton, Illinois.

Following a brief NIFA business meeting, Tom Sleeter, Chief Investment Officer of Total Clarity Wealth Management of Oak Brook, will discuss recent tax law changes, including capital gains, tax rates, and other tax factors of interest to timberland owners.

Mr. Sleeter will explain why, in an era of rising tax rates, timberland ownership is an attractive asset class.  A question and answer session will follow his presentation.
