Pope County: How To Identify Those Bad Guys On Your Property

Everyone in and near the southernmost counties of Illinois are invited to attend a free workshop about non-native invasive plant species on Thursday, November 10, 2011.
The program will be held at the Dixon Springs Agricultural Center near Glendale, Illinois.
Learn to:
Identify, assess and prioritize invasive plants on a property
Control invasive plants using mechanical and chemical treatment methods
Implement forestry practices that reduce the spread of invasive plants
Streamline the process for NRCS’ WHIP and EQIP practices
Make informed decisions to avoid spread- ing invasive species in your area
Find additional resources and tools to help you recognize and eliminate invasive plants and to share your tips with neighboring landowners.
A free meal - including hot dogs and bbq beans cooked over an open fire - will be served to the first 50 people who
register at the pavilion.
CHRIS EVANS, Coordinator of River to River Cooperative Weed Management Area (CWMA), will be the guest speaker at this FREE workshop.
Registration opens at 5 p.m.
The program will begin at 6 p.m.
