Macon County: Tree Planting
When
04/27/2013
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Location
Scott Tree Farm
Due to seasonal flooding, this event has been rescheduled from Saturday, April 20th, to Saturday, April 27th.
Trees will be planted on Kate Scott's property in northeast Macon County, with professional foresters and Walnut Council executives Steve Felt and Dan Schmoker present to demonstrate and answer questions. They will describe planting with shovel, planting bar, and tractor as well as discuss site requirements for various species, whether fertilizer is needed, whether root or top pruning is required, and the benefits of vegetation control. They will also share their experience with tree shelters and deer repellents. IFA member and Walnut Council member John Torbert will assist.
For more information, call Kate Scott between 9 am and 4 pm at
217-795-2104.
