Woodlot Management Opportunities
This presentation will provide an introduction to woodlot management and will show how numerous practices for both forestry and wildlife can be implemented on your property. The webinar begins by providing an overview of pertinent ecological and forest management principles that will help guide your decisions. Then a number of forest and wildlife management practices are covered in detail. These include timber stand improvement, harvesting, regeneration, controlling competing vegetation, and tree planting. For wildlife, we will discuss specific natural habitat elements that provide food and cover and increase overall habitat diversity on your property. Finally, we will wrap things up by discussing how you can get started improving your woodlot to meet your objectives for ownership. Presented by Dave Jackson, Forest Resources Educator, Penn State Extension-Centre County.
This webinar is offered both at 11 am and at 6 pm on Tuesday, September 11, 2012. To participate, you must complete a two-part registration process which then entitles you to join all future PSU webinars. To start the registration process,
