Sample Timber Sale Posting

Sealed bids are now being accepted for the following marked timber on the woodland of Mr. Joe Hickory, located in the N 1⁄2 of Sec. 28, T20N-R12W, Sample Township, Vermilion County, IL. Merchantable volume was determined using the Doyle Tree Scale (Girard Form Class 78) with deductions for defects applied to the estimated volume. The individual, saleable trees are marked with BLUE paint on the stump and on the main bole. This sale also includes 16 cull trees marked with a blue “X” – no merchantable volume was tallied for cull trees.

All licensed buyers bidding on this timber must first contact the seller or his agent and then satisfy themselves by examination as to the quantity and quality of timber offered and accepts the timber with all faults. A prepayment of 10% shall be payable upon award of and as a condition of contract.

Bid Sale: Submit in advance, or bring in person, Attn: Joe Hickory, a sealed timber bid by 10:00am Wednesday, December 7, 2011. We will meet at the Vermilion County Farm Service Agency Office. The successful bidder must execute a timber sale contract with the seller within 10 days of receipt of notice of award. The seller reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any defects or irregularities in the bids. Phone-in bids will not be accepted.
