Stephenson County: Meet your Legislators
Registration is closed
Northwest Illinois forest landowners will have a chance to meet and talk to their state legislators on Saturday, September 10, at 1 pm at Heartbilt Homes in Stockton, Illinois. This event is co-sponsored by the Illinois Forestry Association (IFA) and the Northwest Illinois Forestry Association.
Illinois Senator Tim Bivins and Representative Jim Sacia and IFA Lobbyist Paula Purdue will be available to discuss the just concluded legislative session and to answer landowner questions. Landowners will have a chance to thank their legislators for their support of SB 1914, the “Purple Paint Law” and express their concerns about the IDNR disposition of 4% timber harvest fees. In addition, they can express how a drastic reduction in IDNR staff affects their forest management goals.
Heartbilt Homes, a provider of quality log-built homes, is one of the few wood-processing businesses in northwest Illinois. Their address is 941 E. North Avenue, Stockton, and are located just east of town on the north side of US Route 20. The meeting will be held in their showroom.
