Morgan County: Forestry Field Day
Registration is closed
Sponored by the Morgan county SWCD, the IL Walnut Council and Illinois Forestry Association. Located at the Helen Hinde Tree Farm near 1511 Concord Rd. These woodlands are on the southwest corner of Concord and Catalpa roads. Join in on a day filled with hands on activities that will demonstrate thinning and pruning techniques. Controlling invasive species [bush honeysuckle, garlic mustard, autumn olive and climbing vines] that can choke your woods will also be demonstrated. While regenerating oaks challenges all forest landowners, foresters and experienced landowners will share strategies and principles for successful regeneration. Bring your own lunch, water and bug spray. This event is free and open to the public. Contact Dan Schmoker for more details and information at 217/529-006.
