Early detection & response is the key to managing invasive species. These harmful species tend to spread quickly & maliciously. Can you identify an Invasive Species when you see one? Do you know how to treat one if you do?
The Washington County Soil & Water Conservation District, in conjunction with the Natural Resources Conservation Service will be hosting an Invasive Species Workshop, at Roland Barkau Memorial Golf Course on March 26, beginning at 9:00am, followed by a tour, & lunch at noon.
The workshop will be led by Christopher Evans, Invasive Species Coordinator for the IDNR Illinois Wildlife Action Plan. Species identification, management, & prevention will be among the topics discussed. Following the presentation, Chris will lead a golf cart tour to locate & identify species in the immediate area. Lunch & morning refreshments will be provided.
