The Illinois Tree Farm Committee is sponsoring a field day in Brown County on October 18th at the Mike & Gail Cochran Tree Farm. It is located 10 miles northwest of Mt. Sterling in Brown county - 0.2 miles south of intersection of CR 225 E and 1540 North; look for Tree Farm signs.

Field presentations and demos on controlling invasive species in the woods; cultural practices for established tree plantings; evaluating and preparing your woods for the next generation of trees. Gully erosion can be a serious problem in those woodland ravines; learn practices to stabilize further damage.
An on site barbeque will be provided. There will be a $5 charge to help defray the cost. The weather promises to be cool, sunny...a perfect day to be in the woods.
