  • An overview of the Southern Illinois “oak-hickory” forest that is our home:private landowners - hunters - farmers - the National Forest Service - what is your forest like ? where is it going ? what do you want ?  (general discussion)
  • The history of the Shawnee National Forest and southern Illinois forest land in general:  what is was before European immigrants and farming, what it is now , where it is headed (National Forest Service & Ill. Forestry Assoc.)
  • Fire and forests: Presentation by the Southern Illinois Prescribed Burn Association -&- the Southern Illinois Univ. “Fire Dawgs”:  the 2018 national forest fire season from fire crew members -&- why prescribed burning will make your woodlot/forest safer & better
